The Australian Trainers' Association (ATA) is a national organisation recognised as the principal representative of Horse Trainers' in Australia.

Established in 1967, the ATA is widely represented with Branches in all Australian States and is underpinned by the National Federal Branch.

Importantly the valued support through voluntary Membership provides a well balanced cross section of license holders ranging from Professional Trainers', Owner Trainers, Picnic and Seasonal Permit holders.

The ATA, as the employer representative, is a registered organisation under the Fair Work framework and is Registered Under Fair Work (registration Organisations) Act 2009.  It is a party to the modern award known as the Horse and Greyhound Training Award 2020 (HGTA). The HGTA is specifically designed to meet the unique needs of the horse training industry, offering flexibility in work hours and duties across 7 days a week, as well as attendance at race meets. The ATA monitors and provides guidance to its members regarding changes to the award.

Representation for Trainers' through a united voice that is carried by an independent professional organisation is another core ATA function when consulting with or submissions to racing's governing authorities.

ATA Mission Statement - To Support, Promote and Protect the Interests of Horse Trainers and the Training Profession as a whole.

The ATA has members in every State in Australia and has State branches in Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia.
